Your First Visit

The first visit to Kingsley Orthodontics is always a Consultation. This gives the patient and their family a chance to get to know us and for Dr Singer to make an overall assessment.

During your initial consultation, we will:

  • Review your dental and medical history forms
  • Provide a complete oral exam, with X-rays, to determine if treatment is necessary
  • Help you create a customized treatment plan

Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have, and we will provide all of the information that you need to determine which treatment is right for you.

If a patient is ready for treatment, a series of diagnostic records are taken which includes photographs, and moulds of your child’s teeth. These will be used to make appropriate treatment recommendations. The type of treatment, duration and any special issued related to a patient individual needs will be discussed.

In some situations while a problem may be present, the mouth is not developed enough to start treatment. In such a situation a review program will be carried out in order to monitor the development of the mouth until the mouth is ready for treatment.

Once you have elected to proceed with treatment we recommend you reserve a series of visits to fit and adjust your child’s appliance.

Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment

It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months, even during your orthodontic treatment, for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure that you are receiving the best care possible.
