About Orthodontics

Orthodontics is the specialty of dentistry focused on the diagnosis and treatment of dental and associated facial irregularities.

The Australian Society of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic screening at age 7. By this age, several permanent teeth will have erupted, allowing us to effectively evaluate a child’s orthodontic condition.

The results of orthodontic treatment can be dramatic — beautiful smiles, improved dental health and an enhanced quality of life for many people of all ages. Orthodontic problems result from the combination of genetic and environmental factors, which must be properly diagnosed before treatment begins. Diagnosis involves the detailed study and analysis of clinical examination, intra and extra oral photographs, orthodontic x-rays, and dental models, which enable Dr. Singer to make informative decisions about the forms of treatment possible.

Good treatment results are also dependent on patient compliances with treatment and maximising the coordination of care between you and our practice.
